PIPER OPTIMIST BASKETBALL LEAGUE RULES

3RD & 4TH GRADE – NO Full court or Half court Pressing

5TH & 6TH GRADE – NO backcourt defending in the first 3 quarters.  Full court pressing will be allowed in the 4^th quarter only with less than a 10 point lead

3RD & 4TH GRADE – NO Pressing or Double-teaming outside of the 26’ line

5TH & 6TH GRADE – Single pressing at half court and double at 26’ line (This will not apply during the 4^th quarter for this grade level)

Every player must play TWO full quarters – start to finish

Every player shall sit out at least ONE full quarter – start to finish

Each game will consist of FOUR, 10 minute running quarters – clock stops only during the last 2 minutes of the game.

Each team will be allowed 2 timeouts per game.

KSHAA rules will apply, EXCEPT where changes have been made.

Coaches who do NOT abide by the rules will be REMOVED from the gymnasium.

In the event of inclement weather, coaches will be notified if games will be canceled.  Notice could also appear on this website.

SHOW GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP – SET A GOOD EXAMPLE FOR THE PLAYERS!
